2023 — Agilé Gbindoun
Encouragement prize
Born in Benin in 1968, Agilé Gbindoun lives in Lausanne. She is self-taught. Her encounter with Doctor Gérard Salem and Professor René Berger encouraged her in her personal artistic approach. Her work is exhibited in French-speaking Switzerland at the Galerie Edouard Roch (Ballens), the Galerie Bora Bora (Geneva) and the Galerie du Château (Renens). The Galerie Arnaud Lefebvre (Paris), which had already shown her work in 2022, is devoting a solo exhibition to her entitled "Qui suis-je?" in September 2023 (see agenda). Press kit
Agilé is extremely delicate and discreet about her career. And yet we can sense intimate wounds in her work that we would like to close. Just look at the titles of her exhibitions: "Qui suis-je?", "Les sept paroles du Christ", "Les Scarifications", "Portrait de femmes" or "Dans de beaux draps" and "Apparitions", an event to be presented at Saint-François church in Lausanne in 2022. Her painting is dictated by an external force that leads her to practise automatic writing and drawing.
The Fondation Guignard has decided to award her an encouragement prize.
