What place for art in the public space
June 21 2024 From 09.30 am to 05.00 pm
Whether they are spontaneous, irreverently premeditated or meticulously orchestrated by the authorities, works of art in the public space, by the difficulties or ease with which they find their place, reflect the value attributed to them.
While the notion of well-being in the city is studied through the prism of air quality or noise pollution, what added value does the appearance of a work of art bring to people's daily lives? Is the public hostage to a political choice, or witness to totally free expression? Examples of Art Brut environments created underground and the rebellious culture of street art give us an insight into the diversity of responses to this question: what place for art in the public space?
